Hello, my name is Sam. Welcome to my slice of the Web!
I work full-time in 3D simulation on an engineering tool, and part time as a game developer for an unannounced title.
I’m a core developer for ANVEL, an application that specializes in simulating robotic vehicles, sensors, and the environmental factors that can affect them. It’s basically a game engine, but not for games. Outside of the day job I make time for game-related work because that’s what I’m passionate about. I intend to make a career as a full-time game developer some day.
I like to blog about game development, programming, random project ideas that may or may not ever come to fruition, and Japanese language acquisition. I guess other stuff too, since I like writing and think it’d be cool to branch out a bit.
Because I like rolling old school, this website is lovingly hand-typed from scratch.1
I appreciate simplicity in all things. I believe in beautiful, robust, maintainable code.
Not a fan of dogmatic development philosophies.

I’m told it looks like a website from the 90s, but in a good way. I want to believe that. ↩
